Reasons for choosing our location

When deciding the location of filming we originally thought of the Thames Valley Athletic Centre, but unfortunately we where only able to use it for two hours and we felt this was not long enough to film our two minute Opening Sequence. We then where thinking of someones house, but then we thought of a better place which was Southampton University, when we choose this location we had to consider, the size of the place, was it big enough to film? could a certain amount of people fit in, is the lighting going to be right for the certain scenes. We also had to think about will it be busy , as if it was busy we wouldn't be able to use certain shots as there would be different people in the same shot. This could then confuse the audience. We based our decision on these factors and as we could have use of a dorm we thought it was a fantastic idea.

We are also deciding to film just up the road in Windsor as we need to film someone walking away from the house and when we were in Southampton we filmed someone walking to the University and we now have changed this idea as we feel this will work out better.

The disadvantages of doing it in Southamton is that if we need to change anything we then have to go back all the way down there, this is a big disadvantage as its two hours away.
